In compliance with the ordinance of the Prime Minister of March 4, the teaching activity in the classrooms of the GSSI will be suspended from 5 to 15 March 2020. These measures, taken throughout Italy, tend to reduce the possibility of the spread of the coronavirus and make the number of seriously ill people bearable for the national health system. For the same reasons, seminars, meetings and events are also temporarily suspended.
Prof. Michele Flammini, director of Computer Science area at the GSSI, has been selected as one of 11 Outstanding Senior Program Committee Members at AAAI-20, the 34th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, in recognition of his outstanding service on this year’s committee.

The GSSI is to run a 1-week course on “Foundations of Cosmic Ray Astrophysics” from 25 to 30 June 2020 in Varenna, Lake Como, in the framework of the International School of Physics “Enrico Fermi”, one of the most significant cultural activities of the SIF Italian Physical Society. A multidisciplinary research and Phd program in “Urban Studies and Regional Science” is dedicated to scientists and students from different backgrounds.
