Signatures of a Local Cosmic Ray Source

We suggest that the local supernova which deposited Fe-60 isotopes on the Earth 2-3 million years ago contributes also to the locally observed cosmic ray flux. We show that the contribution of this "local
source" explains the positron and antiproton fluxes and why their spectral shape agrees with the proton flux. At the same time, this local source component explains the difference in the slopes of the spectra of cosmic ray nuclei. We discuss the resulting signature in the Boron-to-Carbon (primary-to-secondary cosmic rays) ratio and in the anisotropy of the total cosmic ray flux.
